The drama of ‘unimportant matters’ are so unique, humorous, cute and sometimes a bit mad. In turn, this drama is universal for any human being and our society.
I love drawing and it is an activity that forms part of her everyday life – in a way an automatic response to what I see and feels. The images must be drawn from or reflecting on my everyday life and thoughts- everyday mundane routines such as going for a walk with a baby, and picking up flowers. Perhaps, it is about the unstable relationship between the natural world and humananity.
Glass drawing explores the world of childhood, dreams and ecology. My art practice explores ways of separating elements from the world and restructuring them in a way which portrays the simultaneous fragility and strength of life.
All my works are a series of drawings (on canvas or on wall) made by using weed and grass with pins. I collects the materials from her backyard or from the road where I walks daily. They are tied together into long strips, thus becoming the ‘line’ of the work. To create something from materials people think are useless is a concept, which has always been of interest to me.
The childlike drawings and awkward lines in my drawings may be as a manifestation of my own desire of wanting to seek my origin or wanting to evoke her childhood. The irregularities, awkwardness and imperfections can seen in my art work is an evidence of being human, and I find ‘beauty’ in there. This beauty is significant – resonating within the viewers own inner self.
