Color Study 202408

Exhibition: Pattern Recognition Curated by Alana Seal
Townhall Gallery, 2024

Color Study continues my exploration of the delicate balance between chaos and order. By creating "textile drawings" that span the space, I invite the viewer into an immersive environment in which acts of creation and destruction exist simultaneously.

My process involves distilling possibilities from the seemingly mundane scenes of everyday life. Through a careful synthesis of these elements, I explore my fundamental interest in the concept of ‘矛盾’ (Mūjun)—the inherent contradiction found in all things. While the work is meticulously edited, I leave room for the "unexpected disaster," requiring a disciplined training of the eye to "see" the beauty in each passing moment.
