White Nest No. 1: Moreland
Moreland Sculpture Show, Yarn and pegs, 2007
This was the first iteration of the series—a one-day trial using only yarn and pegs. Although the process was physically and technically a big challenge, it established the core principles of my practice: the use of sustainable materials, the grace of ephemerality, and the ability to create a large, illusionistic presence from a single, soft thread. At the end of the exhibition, the work was simply wound back into a ball of yarn, leaving no trace behind.
